We have just returned from what can only be described as the most epic and amazing Disney trip to date. Having decided last year we were going to take a late summer break, we booked to stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge resort, and wow what a place this is. It might seem strange to get enthusiastic about a hotel, but this is one you have to see to believe! The sheer amount of thought, planning and detail that has gone into this place is simply awe inspiring!

From the moment you walk into the cavernous lobby, you are well and truly drawn in to the theme of a 1900’s National Park lodge, with chunky wood logs making the structure of this building feel so impressive.

We had a room on the top floor, and like a kid in a sweet shop, on the first night I also discovered we had a view of the nightly Wishes fireworks over at Magic Kingdom, which incidentally is only about 5 minutes away on the very efficient Disney transportation system.

I don’t want this post to turn into a hotel review, needless to say that I took lots of pictures around the resort, but just wanted to share a couple of them here.

If you are debating whether or not to stay at a Disney resort, I can only say that it is the best decision you will make. The theme, convenience, and all the Disney magic are wrapped up in these very highly detailed hotels and make your stay that extra bit more special. We also got a great opportunity to be “flag family” on one of the days we stayed – more on this in a later post!

Here are just a couple of pictures from my favourite Disney resort to date!
